Jamie Lingenfelter (left) and Hannah Ross (right) have been crowned as the Homecoming King and Queen at Kane Area High School. Both are seniors. Lingenfelter is the son of Donna and Phil Lingenfelter of Kane. Ross is the daughter of Megan Ingram and Erik Ross of Mt. Jewett. The king was selected Saturday night at the Homecoming dance at the high school. The queen was announced Friday night at halftime of the Homecoming football game.

New fire truck delivered

Members and friends of the Kane Volunteer Fire Department stand in front of their new truck early Sunday afternoon. KVFD's new Rescue Truck No. 55 was ordered nearly a year ago and delivered Sunday morning to the fire hall. King of Ashtabula, Ohio portrays Lincoln and his wife, Marian King portrays Mary Todd Lincoln. King in 2013 won the “Lincoln Look-alike Contest” at a ceremony in Gettysburg.

Lily in the Valley Florist and Gift Shoppe

Kane's Lily in the Valley Florist and Gift Shoppe is now under new management. The Fraley Street store is now under the management of Rhonda Bonfardin, left, and Dawn Radaelli. The pair have a lot of new vendors coming in and are hoping to increase their wedding business. The store, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, will hold an open house on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crossing to be closed

This rail crossing on South Fraley Street in Kane will be closed for a week beginning Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. Crews will be working to replace the crossing, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Work is expected to be completed Friday, Sept. 26, weather permitting.
