Lucille Harriett Lynch-Beebe

Lucille Harriett Lynch-Beebe, 89, of Biglerville, formerly of Kane, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at her son’s home. 
Born on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1925 in Wilcox, she was a daughter of the late Thomas P. and Emily Hallberg Eshbaugh. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Paul Stanko, Brad Stanko and Timothy Lynch and by her soul mate Anton Schulz-Peters.

John E. "Jack" Snyder

John E. "Jack" Snyder, 82, of Reynolds Street in Kane, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 29, 2014 at his residence. Arrangements, in the care of the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., are incomplete and will be announced.

Robert Jon Williamson

Robert Jon Williamson, 49, died Sept. 23, 2014 in Plantation, Fla.
He was born Dec. 17, 1964 in Kane, son of Joann and Robert Williamson.

John W. Darr

John W. Darr, 90, of Laughlintown, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by the love and prayers of his family.
He was born Sept. 29, 1924 in Ligonier, a son of the late Russell and Nettie Stern Darr.
Prior to his retirement in 1986 he had been employed by Kennametal for over 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Air Force. His memberships include the Calvary United Methodist Church where he had served on church council, was a lay leader, and taught Sunday school.

Homer Eugene Repine

Homer Eugene Repine, 87, of Weldbank, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at the Rouse Home following a lengthy illness.
Gene was born July 8, 1927, in Dayton, son of the late Homer H. and Callie N. Lydick Repine.

William A. Rose

October 21, 2014

William A. Rose, 63, of East Granby, Conn., beloved husband of Julia Ann Hassler, died in the early morning on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at his home after a short battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 16, 1951 in Kane, he was the son of the late William S. and Mildred (Henry) Rose.

Nancy L. Brown

Nancy L. Brown, 69, of New Jersey Avenue in James City, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 19, 2014 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born April 22, 1945 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Richard M. and Frances J. Udovich Chittester. On Nov. 9, 1964 in Kane, she married James R. Brown, who died in 1994.
Nancy had worked at the Rite Aid store in Kane, then later became manager of the Rite Aid in Ridgway for several years.

Thomas W. Mehalko

Thomas W. Mehalko, 67, of 514 Horner Rd., Wilcox, died early Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
Born Feb. 1, 1947, in Wilcox, he was a son of George and Nellie Turzanski Mehalko. On July 27, 1968, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wilcox, he married Anita Johnson who survives.
Mr. Mehalko had worked for Penn Tech and, more recently, was employed by Alpha Sintered Metals in Ridgway.

Forrest F. Hayes

Forrest F. Hayes, 78, a native of Wilcox, died Friday evening, Oct. 10, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where he was a resident.
Born April 22, 1936 in Ridgway, he was the son of Cecil E. and Evelyn F. Hollobaugh Hayes.
A peacetime veteran of the U.S. Navy, Forrest was a security guard for Wells Fargo in Los Angeles, and belonged to the VFW Post #1132 in Kane.

Edward J. Parana

Edward James Parana, 76, of North Cornwall Township, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014.
He was born in Wilcox to the late John and Anna (Bedner) Parana. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gayle A. (Koza) Parana.
He retired in 1997 as an equipment operator for National Fuel Gas Company following 35 years of faithful service. He was a member of St. Callistus Church, Kane Elks Club and Kane Country Club. His ever-present smile reflected his kind nature and zest for life. He loved his family beyond measure and will be missed dearly.
