Kane Borough Council is considering a request to provide $10,000 in financial aid to the local Chamber of Commerce. The proposal surfaced again this week at a council workshop.
Janet Bard, president of the chamber board of directors, told council that the proposed allocation would be "money well spent" and that the chamber is "the heart of the community." Mayor Brandy Schimp believes council should "ask the citizens" for their opinion on the proposal to provide borough tax dollars to the chamber.
