A proposed plan for the renovation of the “memorial point” at Evergreen Park in Kane was unveiled Wednesday at a meeting of the Kane Borough Council.
Tracy Smith of Kane showed drawings of the proposed project on a video screen in the council meeting room.
Kane Borough Manager Don Payne said Dave Conklin of Kane Lawn and Garden prepared the “eye-catching conceptual drawings” of the “memorial point” project.
He said the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Kane  has “taken the lead” in promoting the project, which carries an estimated cost of $180,000.
No date has been set for the start of work on the project.
Payne said the World War I memorial stone at the “point” will become the “landmark” for the new design.
